A comprehensive gas meter asset management solution
A comprehensive gas meter asset management solution
Watthour Engineering Software Solutions, a subsidiary of Radian Research Inc., proudly introduces WATT-Net™, an advanced energy metering asset management solution designed to streamline operations for gas utilities. With features specifically tailored to the unique requirements of gas meter tracking, testing, and installation management, WATT-Net™ empowers utilities to achieve greater efficiency and accuracy managing their gas equipment assets.
Gas meter testing is simplified and automated with WATT-Net™, featuring seamless integration with gas provers for automated accuracy testing as well as manual input options for flexibility. The system tracks inspection results, including hydrostatic leak testing, ensuring that all data is easily accessible for compliance and quality assurance.
To further enhance the gas meter testing process, WATT-Net™ pairs well with the WECO 7000 Gas Module Test Board. The WECO 7000 is a safe and efficient platform for large-scale gas module testing in meter shops, providing operators with the ability to quickly identify potential issues before gas modules are deployed into the field. With features like forward and reverse registration testing, variable speed control, and emergency stop functionality, the WECO 7000 ensures that gas modules are fully verified, preventing costly failures. This test system perfectly complements automated meter testing features in WATT-Net™'s automated meter testing module, ensuring field to head-end read data accuracy and reliability for gas utilities.
Utilities can automate testing of successful activation, and configuration verification processes, including deactivation via of the AMR/AMI gas modules, saving time and reducing manual errors during large-scale operations. This comprehensive approach to gas meter testing ensures utilities maintain high standards of read data accuracy and safety.

WATT-Net™ provides robust tracking capabilities for a wide range of gas-related assets. The system supports the tracking of diaphragm meters, ultrasonic meters, rotary meters, and turbine meters, along with crucial components affiliated with the meter set, such as pressure regulators and electronic volume correctors. In addition to gas meters, WATT-Net™ manages the lifecycle of affiliated AMR/AMI devices commonly attached to these meters, as well as the supporting network infrastructure like gateways, collectors, and routers. By centralizing this information, utilities gain real-time visibility into their gas assets through the entire product lifecycle. Watt-Net enables the tracking of assets from shipment acceptance to warehouse stock, deployment, and if necessary, return status. This ensures better asset management and improved decision-making.
Gas Equipment Record
WATT-Net™ enhances process control across meter shops and warehouses by incorporating customizable business rules. Utilities can integrate gas meter testing into their overall process management, ensuring that meters are consistently tested and inspected according to internal protocols and industry standards such as ANSI Z1.04, Z1.09, and MILSPEC 414. Additionally, WATT-Net™ tracks AMR/AMI device pairings (marriages) and separations (divorces) at every point of contact, from the warehouse to the field.
The system's advanced inventory management features allow utilities to track equipment locations, monitor stock levels, and issue inventory to field personnel and trucks. For bulk processing, WATT-Net™ supports the tracking of equipment on shelves, pallets, and boxes, providing a detailed view of inventory movements. The optional Shop Assistant mobile app enables warehouse and meter shop staff to process equipment using mobile barcode scanners, allowing for untethered, real-time operations.
Managing gas site installations is made simple with WATT-Net™. The system tracks all gas-related equipment installed at a site, including meters, regulators, AMI devices, and electronic volume correctors. It works with a variety of solutions and brands. WATT-Net™ also supports complex site configurations by enabling users to track multiple gas circuits at a single location. The built-in change control procedures ensure accountability by enforcing site signatures and approval processes for equipment and site parameter changes.
Field operations are further streamlined with the Field Assistant mobile app, which allows field teams to manage equipment installations, swaps, site updates, and equipment requests. The integration with RADIAN's Web Inventory Control (WIC) solution enables real-time updates from the field, ensuring that information is always accurate and up to date.
WATT-Net™ integrates seamlessly with your existing enterprise systems through the RADIAN Listener platform. Real-time updates to general-purpose inventory management systems are supported, providing utilities with live visibility into your gas equipment assets. WATT-Net™ also connects directly with AMR/AMI head-ends, enabling synchronization of inventory updates, firmware over-the-air (OTA) updates, and configuration changes.
The system's flexible integration capabilities mean that WATT-Net™ can connect with a wide range of enterprise solutions, including SAP, Oracle, and Maximo, as well as custom integrations tailored to your specific needs. With support for both Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases, WATT-Net™ is built to handle the demands of large-scale utility operations.
WATT-Net™ offers utilities a comprehensive solution for managing gas equipment assets from start to finish. Its powerful tracking, testing, and process control features are designed to improve operational efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide real-time visibility into all aspects of gas meter management. With mobile applications for field and shop personnel, WATT-Net™ empowers your teams to work more efficiently, whether in the warehouse or out in the field. Seamless integrations with enterprise systems ensure that WATT-Net™ fits into your existing workflows, allowing you to take full control of your gas utility operations.
