If you’ve recently purchased a Sensus AMI or AMR system, one of the first things you’ll need to do is install and activate your Sensus SmartPoint meter radios. Here, we will walk you through the process of installing and activating a Commercial Sensus SmartPoint. For the purposes of this video, we’ll be showing you how to attach and activate a Sensus SmartPoint 500 GM to a Sensus R5000 diaphragm meter, but the process will be the same for any top mount-style meter, such as the American commercial diaphragm models, which are able to use a 600 GM SmartPoint. What you will need:
- Meter
- SmartPoint and screw kit (Includes 2 mounting screws, 2 washers, and 2 rock seals)
- Flathead screwdriver
- Phillips screwdriver
- Putty knife or pocketknife
